About Ray

Ray currently is President of Ray Williams Associates, a company with offices in Vancouver that provides executive mentoring, coaching and leadership training services.

His clients have included companies in the Fortune 500 and Best Managed Companies in Canada, and small and medium sized businesses and individuals in the professions.

Ray Williams brings over 35 years of leadership experience as a CEO, HR Executive, Management Consultant and Leadership Trainer.  He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies and advanced training in English, Social History, Psychology and Organizational Leadership at the University of B.C. and the University of Phoenix.

Ray is the recipient of the Master Educator Award from the American Society of Education Executives, and is an immediate past president of the International Coaching Federation in Vancouver, B.C. He is a Certified Master Coach and Trainer and Certified Hypnotherapist.
Ray has also served as Director and Vice-Chair of the Vancouver Board of Trade. Ray’s clients have included Fortune 1000 companies, small to medium sized companies and CEOs, senior executives, managers and professionals business in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.

He has written for or been interviewed by, the National Post, Financial Post, Washington Post, U.S.A. Today, The Huffington Post, Entrepreneur, MacLean’s Psychology Today, Fast Company, Salon, Vancouver Sun, and has been seen and heard on the CBC broadcast radio and television network, The Vicki Gabareau Show, CFUN and CISLE Radio, and The Good Life Radio Show.
Ray is a prolific author. He has written books on leadership, The Leadership Edge, Systemic Change (contributing author) and personal growth, Breaking Bad Habits, Ready, Aim, Influence (contributing author)and a novel, Dragon Tamer and published over 300 articles on leadership, organizational and behavioral change and workplace issues. His new book, Eye of the Storm: How Mindful Leaders Can Transform Chaotic Workplaces is a best seller and available throughout North America, Europe and Australia.

Ray is also a professional platform speaker in demand throughout North America.  He is also known as one of Canada’s top CEO Coaches.

My Story

Ray Williams was born in a Prisoner of War Camp as a prisoner of the Japanese in World War II in Hong Kong. His entire family spent almost 5 years in Standley Camp, enduring a harsh and painful existence. This experience of extreme adversity had a great influence on Ray and his understanding of what it takes to persevere, survive, be successful and be happy. < more about Ray’s story >
